With four generations of hardwood flooring expertise passed down, quality, integrity, and expertise are in our nature at Lead Floor Design. As a hardwood floor company serving Colorado’s Front Range, we serve our community with exceptional work, products, and customer service.

Our Story begins in 1947...

Shortly after returning home from serving our country in WW2, (Grandfather) Alexander Mohr opened up the family’s first hardwood flooring business in Colorado in the early 1950’s. Al’s Floor Service was one of the first businesses in Colorado to offer professional hardwood flooring services to residential customers. Just like his father before him, Alexander was a fine craftsman. Alexander enjoyed passing his knowledge onto his son Robert and of course his son-in-law Lester, my father. Along with many other family members including his brothers, grandchildren, son in laws, friends, and many others. Today, there are currently five family business’s operating in the state of Colorado that date back to our grandfathers original business.

“I along with my cousins, would join our grandfather on jobs at young ages. We were probably in the way more than helping. He would show us the proper way to do something and let us go”. Says owner of Lead Floor Design Adam Fritzler. Alexander seemed to befriend everyone he encountered. Always respectful and hard working. If you were his customer you probably would be for life.

Continuing the legacy

Like so many other family members that went to work for Alexander, so did Lester Fritzler. Lester married Glenda, daughter of Alexander, and began to learn the trade directly from the master.

Lester continued working in the hardwood floor business even after surviving a fire that burned 70% of his body and six months of skin grafts. Lester started his own branch on the hardwood floor tree.

Like Alexander, Lester went on to train his sons, Jonathan and Adam, and son-in-laws, Mark and Troy.

Lester was the hardest worker you have ever seen. He instilled that in each of his sons, especially Adam Fritzler, owner of Lead Floor Design. Lester worked hard his whole life until he passed away of cancer.

Lead Floor Design Today

Adam Fritzler, owner of Lead Floor Design, has been in the hardwood industry pretty much his whole life. He started working full-time in the summer of 1990 and established his own business, Lead Floor Design, in 2012. He trained many floor pros that currently work in the area.

Adam’s family has taken different roads. His son was a marine, like Adam’s grandfather, but ended up a veteran of the army serving overseas. Adam’s wife and daughter work in the medical field, and son-in-law is a fine electrician.
